The House System
The House System
Every student at Jonathan Edwards Classical Academy belongs to one of four Houses: Geneva, Gethsemane, Princeton, or Wittenberg.
The House System is designed to strengthen school culture, build friendships across grade levels, develop student leadership, and cultivate virtue. Throughout the year, Houses participate in academic challenges, service projects, athletic competitions, and school traditions that encourage students to pursue excellence together.
Each House is associated with a defining virtue and guiding Scripture:
- Geneva — Wisdom
“Hear, my son, and be wise, and direct your heart in the way.”
— Proverbs 23:19 - Gethsemane — Perseverance
“Continue in the fear of the Lord all the day.” — Proverbs 23:17 - Princeton — Scholarship
“Apply your heart to instruction and your ear to words of knowledge.” — Proverbs 23:12 - Wittenberg — Conviction
“Buy truth, and do not sell it.” — Proverbs 23:23
House points are earned through academic excellence, competition, Christlike conduct, service to others, and enthusiastic participation in school life.
Student prefects help guide each House, fostering unity and learning that true leadership is rooted in humility, responsibility, and service to God and neighbor.
At the end of the year, one House is awarded the House Cup, but the greater goal is the culture built along the way: a community in which students encourage one another, pursue excellence, practice virtue, and grow together in wisdom and character.
